From early childhood Bonnie has always loved creating. She never missed an opportunity to take art in school, and she often manifested her own projects at home. In her adolescence her mother recognized her creative abilities combined very well with her spatial abilities, and she encouraged Bonnie to pursue a career in architecture. In 1989 Bonnie did graduate from architecture school, but as fate would have it, she chose to pursue a career in graphic design rather than architecture.
For sixteen years Bonnie worked as a graphic designer. As her career blossomed she learned many new things, but still felt unfulfilled creatively. In her heart she had always dreamed of being a painter, but had no idea of how to achieve this dream. It was in 2005, during her second year of school at University of Santa Monica (USM), that her dream of becoming a fine artist began to grow. For her second year project she chose to learn to paint, and through the grace of Spirit was led to Margaret Lazzari, a long-time painter and teacher. Margaret taught Bonnie how to paint with acrylics and she recognized that Bonnie had a natural aptitude for painting. She encouraged Bonnie to do more.
Bonnie felt excited when painting, but it she still felt like she had to work at it. In January 2007, when she first took classes from Rassouli (www.Rassouli.com) that she learned how to trust her creative intuition. Through the process of trusting herself, Bonnie allowed the creative energy of the universe to flow through her, while at the same time honing her technical abilities. Learning to create in this way opened up new channels for her, and she even saw changes in the way she approached her work on the computer, which has brought greater success in her career as a graphic designer
Bonnie has a bachelor of architecture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and a masters of spiritual psychology from University of Santa Monica. She lives in Redondo Beach with her husband, Steve Weed, and their two boys, Gabriel (5) and Jeremy (2).
